IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover... ten years today

So here we are, ten years later. Indeed, on the 25th of March, 2011... this game was released in Russia.

 

In France, were I live, my collector's edition box was already ordered, and I got it on the allowed date in the European Union: six days after the Russian release, this is, on the 31st of March, 2011.

 

 

 

 

I spent years before I realise this is the best survey-type combat flight simulator ever. At the time of the release I was stupid enough to be deceived by appearances so I didn't join any active community. The majority of simmers did as I did myself, and now we know the rest of the story. But those who trusted this game were right... and I was wrong. To remedy to my wrongdoing, I simply can say: happy birthday Cliffs, you are the best. You... and TFS. I really hope we have at least ten more years to fly together.

Been there since the day 1 of the rather ragged release...in fact all those years before collecting screenies from Oleg.Watched it improve & improve on ATAG's website & gone along with every bump in the road, andI am happy I did...however never got all the goodies shown above...sigh...
