Lt_Tomonaga Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) Brand new to the forums and the game and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the wealth of information here. Quick questions: Has the game been released? If yes, is it payware or some kind of public beta? What are the critics saying about the game? Any reviews? Anything else I need to know if I don't have the game yet? Thanks in advance for all replies...and glad to meet you all. I still play the original IL-2 Sturmovik since 2001. Usually I play single player campaigns because I'm disappointed by the online experience and dislike HyperLobby. Edited June 7, 2014 by Lt_Tomonaga
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 1. No, early access is open now 2. You can pay for early access at a discount off final release price. 3. I'm a critic and I love it so far and it is only 51% complete 4. It is Alpha about to go to Beta. Final release scheduled for Fall. Devs do updates every Friday. Something to look forward to. There is a Quick Battle map for SP and limited servers for MP. If you like 1946, you'll love this. Check system requirements.
Sokol1 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Usually I play single player campaigns because I'm disappointed by the online experience and dislike HyperLobby. Since your major interest is ofline campaing I advice read the DD-66 about this matter before decide. Sokol1
1./JG42Nephris Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) You will find DD-66 (Developer Diary 66) here If you are primary up to singleplayer you could maybe be disappointed at first, until more decent content will arrive. Edited June 7, 2014 by 1./JG42Nephris
Shibbyland Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Hi, Sorry I've put this a few places I am just really keen to get a response before spending what to me is quite a bit of money. Is the 'feel' of this game more like Rise of Flight or Cliffs of Dover. I found Cliffs of Dover really inaccessible and still do mainly because I cannot free look with the HAT (POV) switch. I can in Rise of Flight, the controls and presentation of Rise of Flight is just so much easier to use.
Finkeren Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 RoF is closer, but it's still a completely different beast. If the control system of RoF appeals to you, you should feel at home in BoS though. 1
