Great post, thank you.  This explains what I did wrong when I did paradrops earlier this week. I believe it was the wind that moved them too far away for them to count, combined with me being uncertain of the altitude for the drop. I was most likely dropping them too high.

I had one that failed yesterday, I reckon that I did my bit OK but the new front line algorithm can produce screwy results and in this case the Russian drop point was inbetween the front lines and it is possible that they were shot by German AAA.
