Tobruk engine-start issue with the 110

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Need a little technical help. I've created a single mission so I can learn and practice the 110C for an upcoming campaign (ACG). Oddly, after prepping the plane for engine start, I select engine 1, and press "I" to start. Nothing happens. I select engine 2, and it also fails to start. "Engine starting" does not show in the information box, though engine selection does (but sometimes not). I checked the key bindings and all seems OK. So I went back to the mission builder, selected my 110 mission, then changed the plane to the 109F, and saved it as such (so now two missions). I started the 109 mission, pressed "I" to start the engine, and saw in the info box "Engine starting". The engine started. Back to the 110 mission, and still no joy. Anyone have this happen? BTW, I verified the files through Steam. Still no joy.

tia,

For the C variant, which is the only Bf 110 variant in the Dover series, there are 12 subvariants in the game:

Bf 110 C-2
Bf 110 C-4
Bf 110 C-4 Late
Bf 110 C-4/N
Bf 110 C-4/NJG
Bf 110 C-4B
Bf 110 C-4B/trop
Bf 110 C-4N/NJG/trop
Bf 110 C-6
Bf 110 C-6/trop
Bf 110 C-7
Bf 110 C-7/trop

On the above list of subvariants, which of them develops this issue you are talking about?

Otherwise, for all subvariants, the flashcards instruct on step 3 "Engine 1 and 2 fuel cocks fully forward". Did you check that? At any rate, keep trying, at least following the flashcards instructions step by step, just in case. One advice only: everytime that an attempt of starting the engine up fails, simply leave the specific plane you created, create a new one and, again, follow the instructions in the correct order. If, even this way, you don't manage to start the engines... well... maybe the problem comes from something in the mission, but at this stage, I couldn't help you (although maybe others could).

Hello Kintaro. I'm all sorted now. My Staffelkapitan suggested the fix: use "select engine" key binding instead of the toggle(?). I forget the exact naming, but I'm using the top most engine selection. And I went flying.?

But I thank you for offering the helpful tips. Can't know too much.
