SR603-Flowbee Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 (edited) I am also hoping to do Yellow-6 440180 for the same pilot. Having seen a photo of yellow-6 I suspect that this aircraft (yellow-11) may have had a darker shade of camo on the wing surfaces. I chose to do it this way because it made for a nicer skin. I have been unable to find any more contemporary photos that would clarify this. As always any photos are more than welcome. (The really interesting bit for me was realising just how difficult it is to copy a mottle pattern and getting it just right. Each individual shapeless blob actually has to be shaped and curved and then feathered and blurred just the right amount. It is actually the most challenging part of doing a skin. Hats off to the ground crew and the profile artists!) Bf 109G-5 WNr.27119 9./JG 54 Emil Hecker in the picture but the 109 flown also by Gerhard Kroll & Fw. Fritz Unger .The 27119 lost 8 April 1944 with Gerhard Kroll at the controls. SR603-Flowbee Posted March 16, 2021 Author Posted March 16, 2021 An update using RLM 65 HellBlau. I also added more metal flaking. This one attributed to Emil Hecker (the guy in the cockpit) just to differentiate versions. https://mega.nz/file/UslkzJ4a#eqlHiQYIVBNq5Z0GwiEJ8U-7OytmkwBVto7Dn7pBTmU Looks like interest is waning so I'll close the book on this one. Besides this is as good as this one is going to get by me anyway. 11 1 2

imanuthep Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Cool skins Flowbee but I'm not sure to get it : is it one plane flown by different pilot or two diffrent planes ? Could you make yellow-9 too? THANKS 1 1
SR603-Flowbee Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 (edited) If you look at the initial post for this aircraft (Gerhard Kroll Yellow 11 wnr. 27119) it is all documented. Turns out at least 3 pilots flew in this plane. Confused the hell out of me as well. Made worse by a claim that two yellow-11's with different wr.n's flew for the same Staffel and crashed in different places on the same day. The official records help to explain but indicate 2 yellow-11's from the Staffel crashed within 4 days. I am finished with this one having done 3 impressions for 3 pilots.
