greybeard_52 Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 I couldn't find a forum section dedicated to technical assistance, sorry if I'm doing wrong. I'm getting randomly during simulation some relatively little (about 1 cm x 5 mm - but they can be a bit bigger or smaller) black rectangles flashing for a while on screen centre. They appear for just an instant, thus don't hurt much, but I would eliminate them, if possible without compromising all the rest, which is fine. Here follows my specs and video settings:

Here follows my specs and video settings: I remember other people having similar issues but can't exactly remember the solution. I believe it could be related to either SSAO or HDR. Possibly it is an antialiasing issue too. Try switching your Antialiasing type. Then try turning off SSAO, and then HDR. FWIW you look to be driving that card pretty hard. MSAA is the most performance intensive AA type available and 8X AA is pretty steep. Also, make sure your drivers are up to date.
itsbillyfrazier Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 (edited) Turn off HDR and problem should be solved. I experienced the same, HDR was the issue. *Edit* - I also agree with RedKestrel re: your AA settings, probably a bit high for your card. I'm using a GTX980ti and run at x4 AA. But turn off HDR as your first step and I'm confident you will no longer get the black box artifacting. Edited March 15, 2021 by itsbillyfrazier 2
greybeard_52 Posted March 16, 2021 Author Posted March 16, 2021 Thank you gents, I'll follow your suggestions! Cheers, GB
greybeard_52 Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 After sufficient testing, I can confirm that disabling the HDR option eliminated the appearance of the black rectangles on the screen. Thank you again!? 1
