Enigma89 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 The first 35 seconds the mic volume is very low (it's just an intro to the channel) so please consdier skipping ahead if you can't hear. This sortie was quite long and frustrating but wanted to voice over it and give my thought process as I broke things down. 1
peregrine7 Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 It is great to see a video that shows the frustration that IL2 can bring - as well as an example of the Me262 being flown to its strengths yet showing off its weaknesses. For landing those shots, I've found that the Me262 benefits greatly from very high convergence settings. Even 900m+ is still viable. This allows you to adjust the point of impact by rolling (which is not too locked up) rather than having to roll/rudder and then pitch to move the actual nose. This logic is still used in modern jet fighters which sometimes use angles as high as 14 degrees! Another benefit is that this reduces the "hitting a target below the nose" syndrome common in many boom and zoom passes. S!
jollyjack Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 (edited) Q, why doesn't airspeed show in the HUD (left low corner)? That's what is particularly interesting with these kind of maneuvers ... Edited March 16, 2021 by jollyjack

I am a creature of habit so I keep all my centerline guns on the same convergence or I start missing. That idea for the 262 is interesting, if it doesn't mess me up on my other planes I will try it next time. I think I was having really bad lag issues because those are shots I typically make and that sortie tilted me enough where I landed and opened my wallet to buy a new computer so this should stop as soon as I get the parts ?
