Pimax 8K X and View Drifting and sometimes gets stuck off center

Hi Guys!

I use a motion rig (PT-Actuators) and a Pimax 8K X. But recently I started noticing the view starts drifting when you hit pause and come back to the game... Even when you're mid flight and make some turns, it gets off center. I guess much of that has to do with Motion Compensation possibly also, but strangely, I went into the camera options mid flight in a career session, unchecked Head Shake, and then went back and im stuck "centered" but im to the right of the cockpit outside of the plane and Can't get back inside the cockpit correctly. I checked Head Shake back on, but it's still stuck outside of the cockpit.

How do i fix this. I redid my steamVR Room Setup and nothing helped. Restart of PC also didnt help.

Hey man, I have 8kx, and I also found inacurate positioning after taking off my hmd for a few minutes. It is not IL-2 feature, it is same in steamvr room. It came last month with steamvr beta, and now it is with steamvr normal. With inacurate positioning I mean drifting, turning view, blacking out, then again finding position. It feels like after pause hmd positioning itself with basestations 50% and with gyros other 50%.

I asked others on MR-forum (pimax forum), but they use vr controllers, and after 1-2 times turning controllers on/off they got good tracking again. It is problem more for us in sims.

I wish I had time to ask pimax support for that....

I had to reinstall IL-2 to get this fixed altogether. I couldnt straighten out the view to center. It works now that it's reinstalled

What PC Specs do you have and what are you graphic settings for this game? It seems like 70% steamVR SS, Normal FOV, Pitool 1.0, and im still at 65fps with a 3090/9900KS. So something i have is really pushing it to it's limits. fpsVR shows a yellow graph

I have vertical resolution (TYPO2064TYPO) 2604 pixels, normal view, nvidia 2080ti, i8700k, and mostly I have full 75Hz, with drops to 65Hz in demanding moments. This resolution is great for spotting far contacts.

I made a ticket at pimax for that losing positioning...

Gotcha. I just changed some settings and got it to stick to 75fps now with the random drops but its sticking to 75fps.

This loss of position sucks though. You press pause and it drifts and then when you go back into the game, you have to recenter no matter what.

My drifting usually do not stop after pause, even with recenter.

Then I have to restart :(

It is 2604 pixels vertical, sorry for typo

In my case the drifting does keep happening after turning the aircraft and then going back to level flight, i noticed im not lined up with the crosshairs so i have to recenter. It is definitely an issue. But I also have a motion rig, so that can cause some of that issue. I will be using Motion Compensation soon to see if that helps, but i have a feeling the drifting has nothing to do with it. I know a friend that tried IL-2 in his Rift S and he has the drifting happening to him as well and he also doesnt have a motion rig.
