SRS disconnects

SRS works fine for a short while then silence, and I realise it has disconnected. I reconnect and all is well, but only for a short while. I am in VR and this problem makes SRS unusable due to the hassle of taking off the headset, alt tabbing, reconnecting, alt tabbing, 

putting on the headset (over and over). Any ideas on what is happening and how to fix? Thanks in anticipation.
