Strange object inside P-39L cockpit

First of all, pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong section of this forum: I'm not yet well oriented here...?

Then, I can't understand what is that sort of handle highlighted in the attached screenshot. Thank you!

That is the gunsight reticle filter. It rotates up when you use one of the gun sight commands. I've never found it useful but its fun to see it work. Hope this helps!

If I'm not mistaken this, it's the top part of the sun filter

Funny, I always thought that was the flush handle for the pilot relief tube. Don’t I feel the fool.

I don't understand what you are saying ... "tot"? what is a "tot"? And what does my father and my mother have to do with it? You know, I think you shouldn't smoke before posting on this forum.

It is a young child greybeard_52, some might use kid or maybe baby for the very smallest of us .

 

The guys were just doing adult humour in response to things in cockpits, it can get lost in translation.

 

I have sat in the P-39 many times but never noticed the glare shade, never knew it had one, strange because at first glance you might think the stowed item was some kind of bug in the 3d, you learn something new everyday.
