The Max Image Size to be displayed through the MCU Translator Media with the Image parameter was of 800x500 pixel size.

I find this really small when you are on 4K screens.

Unwillingly I linked to a wrong jpeg image file that was a 5594x3566 pixel size and weighted 6.5 MB.

This is a larger than 4K image and was displayed full screen perfectly. I am very happy for this, but does this mean that there is no more size limitation for the images that can be displayed by the Translator Media MCU.

I did not see over the years any comment on this in the various updates but I may be wrong. Anyway this means I have to update all my campaign images to the right size not considering this limitation anymore. This means to have images of HD size which are fine on a 2K or 4K display and will still be compatible with all HD displays as I suppose nobody plays IL2 anymore with a display under HD resolution. Again I may be wrong.

But before I do this I would prefer be sure this is a standard feature now and it will not create a problem when the campaign will be released.

I can't answer to that. Like you, i didn't notice any information for that feature.

I didn't even know there was a max size listed anywhere. Coincidentally, I have just been messing around with that feature over the last couple of days.

I think the image can be any size, but the question is what size can be displayed onscreen. 1920x1080 is probably the most common in use by most people now and the recommended display for older screens. I have not tested it but your image size will determine how much of the screen is covered when you display an image with the translator.

If I were to display your 5594x3566 pixel size image, I would only see about 1/3 of it. I think I would scale images to display in VR correctly based on the max goggle resolution and let it be smaller than the screen borders for 4k monitors.

I am now using full HD images which are fine on 4K and HD monitors. Its the best compromise at this point.

Hurry otherwise you may miss the 4K as 8K is coming fast. You will need the RTX 4090 coming next year to play. ?
