Jade_Monkey Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Saw this on reddit, pretty cool: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welbike?wprov=sfla1 1 2 1
AndyJWest Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Clever, but seems to have been of limited use. According to Wikipedia, it had the usual going-astray issues with parachute-dropped equipment, and the low power and small wheels made it rather impractical. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welbike
Feathered_IV Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 Timmy couldn't wait to open his presents on Christmas Day... 1
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 There are plenty of cool foldable or compact Designs, many based on Vespa/Lambretta Powertrains. Best known of course. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vespa_150_TAP
AndyJWest Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 Are there any examples of parachute-dropped motorcycles/scooters other than the Welbike actually being used in combat?

The Vespa TAP was used in the Algerian War in the early 60s. Enfield had the 100cc Enfield Flying Flea in WWII. 1
DD_Arthur Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 A 75mm recoilless rifle on a scooter? Cool?. I wonder if anyone built a Fiat 850 Sport with a tactical nuclear weapon?
