[80 years ago today[ "• Impressed with the performance of the Lockheed Hudson for the British, 146 are diverted from a recent RAF order to the US Army Air Corps and taken into service as the A-29. Twenty of these are provided to the US Navy which will designate them the PBO. Army A-29s will fly ASW patrols off the US east coast and the Navy PBOs off the Canadian Maritime Provinces."
