Any other fans?  I'm posting for no other reason than I absolutely loved this game.  Played through it four or five times.  Know the quests by heart now.

The bad:

Buggy at release. Quite a bit less so now but still not perfect.  Combat lock on mechanism can be very frustrating when fighting multiple enemies.

Other than that the game is a blast.  Swords with no sorcery.  Really fun quests, many of which are non violent.  Great feel.

I absolutely love this game! For me the most immersive Medieval game I ever played - I wish we had any news about a sequel!

Fantastic game! I loved it and still play it often. It’s so well done. After I’d finished it first time I went back and played it on hardcore and it was like a whole new game again.

If you are through with the game, you can bild some of the stuff:

I really struggled with it and only got as far as the first quest.  Performance was very poor with a 6gb 1660ti card and 16gb of ram.  Just aiming the cursor over an object was a mini game in itself.

I really loved the setting and played a lot. Sadly the bugs were my main enemy and I had to scrap around 20 hours of gameplay because of them. After they fixed it I lossed the interesed in it (which is a shame). I might pick it up and give it another try.

Probably worth a go, I didn’t come across any bugs as far as I can tell.

Well I played it right on the release and I had to stumble above every main-quest bug that was in there^^

Like cutscenes that didn't got triggered because I had a side-quest that somehow created a bug. I mean when you know about it, it's easy to avoid but when you don't know about it and simply to continue some side-quests etc. and find out that your past -5~10 hours and progress are for nothing it pisses you off^^ And the last major bug I had was at one of the final battles where they were all marching to the enemy's fortress and the loading screen simply never finished. After they fixed that 1-2 weeks later I was just to tired to continue ?

This shouldn't be a problem anymore for sure and just hope that they learned from their mistakes and make it better next time^^

I really enjoyed what i played of it around release,  but I don't think i got around to finishing it, i think the bugs might have gotten the better of my patience.

Has it been patched up now? Are the DLCs worth picking up?

I should really try and finish the main story off at some point if its no longer buggy.

Yeah sorry I forgot to say that it was a while after release that I played it so I think they’ve fixed them.

I got the DLCs free as a Kickstarter thing, I played two of them, one where you build a village and that was really good. Also the one where you play as the girl (can’t remember her name) and that was good too.

I like it too but so far I could only reach the pub after the initial attack and after whisteling for a horse the enemies of course found and stomped me into the ground. ?

It's a while ago; when I find the time I'll try it again. Great game so far I could see and read.

Yes, this game was amazing, played it to death when it came out, and later again on hardcore mode.

really fell in love with this game, there were times when I thought "This looks real" or just some instances that looked so photorealistic if played with correct FOV.

for example, the visuals inside the churches with the 15th century art/drawings looks so good, castles, cities etc.
think I even found Chris Roberts on one of these drawings inside a church, but in general this game has some amazing visuals, and the fact that everything feels and looks 1:1 scale, this together with the realistic map they made, you just felt that you were really "there".

I wasn't the biggest fan of the combat mechanics at first, but I got used to it and felt OK.

everything else regarding quests and storyline was good enough for me, except some of the DLC's the could have been a bit better.

Beaten bloody, no horse yet, just barely survived a fight, and I'm stumbling through the woods in the dark.  Follow the moon and finally break into a clearing with a farm.  Everything is red and black.  I stumble in and miraculously find a place I can sleep.  Wake up the next morning, still injured, to find myself in a pile of hay in a barn.

Hardcore mode adds a whole new dimension to the game.

Did you ever finish the rebuild the church in Pribyslavitz quest?  When it is done Henry is depicted on one side of the altar piece with Divish on the other.  What's interesting is that this is more than some sort of joke.  In reality the benefactors were often painted into the altar pieces.

Platinum achieved. Excellent game. Picked it up for PC last summer, all the major bugs crushed, I don't remember encountering any small ones either. Great story, no supernatural crap, the DLCs are definitely worth it. Pick the complete bundle from a sale. Worth every penny.

I hope they would release a sequel. I don't mind if the sequel follows another character than Henry.

We need more games like this. Single Player, focused on the story, immersion and atmosphere.

Minor spoiler, but I think it captures the game:

Spoiler

your first quest is to get your dad an ale

To be honest, I couldn't get past the combat. The problem is that they did motion capturing so it looks realistic, but it isn't really - and I found it quite hard to get into it because of that. I should really load it up and see if I can enjoy the archery vs. rabbits (I really enjoyed that one level in the original Call of Juarez).

Anyway, I wish the combat was like in Hellish Quart... that actually feels right (I even lose for the same reason I lose when fencing). Heck, even being able to mod it to speed it up would help.

I really enjoyed it. I only remember one big bug that broke a side mission where you had to capture three birds with cages but one cage disappeared and could not complete it.

Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and the mini games inside were interesting.

This is one of the best games I've ever played, along with RDR2, Assassin's  Creed 2 and Brotherhood, and IL-2 1946 (for the time) and Great Battles.

Just had a look - you are better off grabbing it now on the Fanatical 18 bundle (includes a bunch of other games and some DLC for it) - then topping off with any extra DLC you may want from steam summer sale.

Do.  it can be had pretty cheap at this point.  I like it enough that I end up picking it up at least once a year, despite knowing the story by heart.  Hardcore mode, for me, has just the right amount of difficulty.  It can get pretty intense stumbling through the woods with no idea where you are at.

The DLCs are all worth it.  Women's Lot is the most comprehensive.  Besides adding new quests it also ties up a lot of loose ends.  Most of the bugs have been squashed.  Find the right ENB and it really feels like Bohemia in 1400.

Just remember, in the beginning your Henry will suck at everything.

Not really a spoiler, but the way that I play.  There are "bad quests" and "good quests".  I usually start as "bad Henry", doing all of the quests that would not be fit for what Henry becomes later in the game.  The later quests are then a sort of rise from the ashes.  The kickoff for the more noble quests is very early in the game, where you are told to meet your lord in a certain castle.  I just don't go until much later.

I also self nerf by not picking up and selling everything that drops.  No selling armor or weapons ... until you get to a quest where you need tons of cash, and then I let that rule slide.  Still, it keeps me hungry early in the game.

I really like this game and have put a lot of time into it just for the fun combat and beautiful environments. Just walking from place to place with an encounter mod in the early game is a huge adventure.

But...

To be objective, it really is quite terrible. You can't optimise it, animations constantly break, the voice acting is a war crime and so many of the the questslines and mechanics are just plain obnoxious or complete nonsense.

My recommendation is to deny Bethesda your lunch money. Give it to Warhorse, because they at least put some heart into their broken, janky mess and it is better than Skyrim in many regards.
