Blue or Red Dots and Planes on the in-game Pilot map

For some (stupid me?) reason i can't figure out why the blue and red dots and plane icons won't appear in the game (M on for pilot map) with my home brew missions.

I looked at some existing mission files in the ME where they work fine, and i don't get why as such, though some times they appear a little late it seems.

(The black player plane is there of course as always).

Tried to find the AHA solution in Jim's Magic Manual, but i must overlook something.

BTW Spotter on (or off) in Advanced Properties seems to do nothing,

and i still don't get what spotter is used for other than showing an adjustable red transparent circle on the Pilot Map.

Spotter radius is the distance that the vehicle will target enemy vehicles for the player or another plane or vehicle. If the attacking vehicle is within that circle, it will designate the targets. You can make the vehicle into a FAC by linking the attacker to a Cover command targeting the FAC who has a linked and triggered Attack Area Command. It will target enemies according to the parameters set in the Attack Area starting with the closest enemy to the FAC.

If it sounds confusing well... it is. It took me a while to figure that one out.

Thanks; now I wonder if Confucius is part of the dev team, or that of Oleg Maddox ...

Now what is FAC? To to with MP gaming?

FAC = Forward Air Controller. The guy in the tank, armored car, or low flying biplane that sits there with binoculars and tells you on the radio where to drop your explosive things.

No reason you can't use it in multiplayer CoOp to circle over the enemy and tell you where they are... That would require AI involvement though. Not so much of use in an online dogfight match.
