Button assignment for each Supercharger stage

Button assignment for each Supercharger stage

  1. 1. Current high value throttles are full of 2-pos & 3-pos switches which often not utilized by this sim. Do you think it would be very useful to be able to assign them to each supercharger position.

    • Yes, it would very much contribute to engine controllability in combat situations comparing to current toggle only choice.
    • I mostly fly western aircraft with automatic supercharger, so I don't care what others fly and how.
    • Sorry. I don't know what you are talking about.

I'm not super familiar with supercharger stages, but I think nearly all  planes in game just have 2 at most. What's the third? Off?

If we're talking about 3 pos switch - yes. The middle position -  just no action. If we're talking about 2 pos switch - down is 1st stage, up - the 2nd stage.
As for me and most others flying A/C w manual charger it is very convenient and useful to select a proper stage by proper finger move, without currently starring at so called 'technochat' on what happend and whether stage is correct.

Hence, Gear has both Down & Up commands. Why Supercharger is only toggle??

For the fighters with manual charger it may become of vital importance to properly and fast switch between high-pressure  and low-pressure stages when fighting at marginal heights because of inevitable loss of power at those altitudes. In worst - passing the margin up and down
The best solution is not to fight at marginal heights - because of low-pressure stage is already uncapable to maintain max power, and high pressure stage is not yet enough capable to provide maximum engine power. But combat is uncertainty

I saw this topic a bit late to vote but you may add a "Yes" from me.

I actually would like to have more button assignments in general like for each formation light, separate buttons for cockpit and instrument lights, etc... .

Have a nice day.

Yes, this would be nice to have.

I do find that on-off toggle switches are usable for supercharger and other such things. I have them configured to report as two distinct buttons, and in this sim I assign both of those buttons to the toggle action. It works okay, and I use that for supercharger, boost, tail-wheel lock, and nav/formation/landing lights. It is possible for them to get out of sync, if you forget to reset them before starting a mission, but in that case it suffices to open the map before putting them in the right position.

Yes, please!

I've wished we had this feature since day one. Sometimes it's hard to read the labels in cockpit to know which gear state corresponds to which lever position. More so when under pressure and in planes one doesn't fly that often.

It would be a nice quality of life improvement IMHO.

Yes, desync is a pain for me. It may happen in many situations. In multiplayer, when you were killed at 2nd supercharger then after respawn at low altitude you're out of sync with your switches; in air start at high altitudes... every time you are starting a mission you have to think of manual syncing and inverting current switches setup if it is in wrong state. It is boring
