Could the flares be set to stay lit for a while when they land?

As the title says, I'd love to see the flares remain lit when they land, even for something like 10-20 seconds before they put out, as it would make a world of difference when attacking ground targets. For example, I've been attacking some tanks in JU88 for couple of nights, and it has been very difficult to find targets, and after finding the targets it is so easy to lose sight of them immediately after turning and starting the attack run, as the targets have blended in the terrain. I tried to use flares to help me out but they put out the second they stopped in the ground.

 

Any chance this could be implemented?
