Was going to post this earlier but figured it out.  Posting with solution just in case others have a similar issue.  I started the game hoping to get a flight in.  I start up the mission and find my head under the dash of my trusty FW 190 and against the left side of the cockpit.  Recenter did not work (many times, a couple of restarts, etc.)

Solved:

1. Exit game

2. Reenter game with VR disabled

3. Use Head position keys to reestablish position (they do not work with VR enabled)

4. Press F10 to save position

Second question:

Is it possible to have a fixed flying and a fixed aiming position bound to a key?

Third question:

After saving the "aiming position" with F10 in flat screen mode I reentered in VR.  My default position in VR was not what it was in flat screen mode.

Please post any useful tips around head position, especially in VR,  here.  More info is always a good thing.

Which headset are you using?

Reverb 1.

I don't think my issues have to do with the headset.  Could be wrong but don't think so.  Everything was displayed perfect until I got to the cockpit and everything went back to usual after I reset the view in screen mode.  The game is what it is - sometimes it loses that positioning.

I am more interested in better/easier ways to set positions in VR.  Things like moving the head position.  Can that be done in VR or is that monitor view only?  Having two presets - one for cockpit center and another for aim is also something that would be really helpful.

F10 works in VR. You cannot move your head with keys though.

Hello. You can also save the settings, because I found them sometime overwritten by new versions...

Here are mine, covering most of german fighters ans some other other planes for which I was not happy wih default views.

Why save a fixed aim position when you just have to move your head using VR?

You may check with VRnecksafer. It provides an left/right and fwd/back option. So if you map a key with no angle, it mat work. And you can use the auto feature for rotation. Otherwise, you may ask him for a new feature...

That.s just default head position. They are not fitted well for VR: too much right ans often too much forward.

When you "are" in VR cockpit at full scale it's annoying, so you have to move tour head before evey recenter to be roughly were you should realky be (on top of your seat, and not shifted)

You have to adjust the defaut center view, disabling vr and going full rear with (i think) INS key, up PGup and left END, and save F10, or better editing the snapviews for the plane with txt editor. You're right, head should be in center of cockpit and not attached to gunsight.

I use this - basically you put your head where the virtual head ought to be (if using the pilot in cockpit mod, I line up with the pilot's shoulders), then press F10. You might need to recentre the VR view at an offset to be able to get your real head in the right place, then recentre back once done.
