Question for the IL-2 devs esp. my boy Jason

Hi,

 

I was curious what servers you guys play on and which ones you have been finding really interesting. Anything notable in mission design that you were surprised/impressed by?

 

I would imagine that from a video game developer experience, it must be interesting making something and then handing the tools over to players and then seeing what stuff they come up with. So just thought it be neat to ask you guys to see what has stood out or surprised you or impressed you with the multiplayer scene.

If i was a dev of this game or any game, i would play with some different username, just because i wouldn't want to be first priority target for all the players and to avoid all the questions.

I used to play as myself and hang out on TS a bit to chat with people, but it's non-stop questions (many of which have no clear answer so it becomes a drag because it's frustrating for those who ask me. The answer to everything is maybe). So now I play online with an alias when I can find the time. I chat with many in the community who I have a personal friendship with to find out what's going on and the behind the scenes and the drama in the community.

Probably go the daft punk route and hide yourself so I get the alias.

 

If you don't mind because I am genuinely super curious. What things have really surprised or impressed you with the multiplayer servers/mission designs? I will make an analogy here but when you give kids crayons, you have no idea what wacky stuff they will make. Initially it's awful and then over time they hone their skills and get better.

 

So I am just kind of curious with that anology, the mission editor and the game were the crayons and the kids (us players) started to play. So just was curious if you saw anything that the community made in multiplayer that stood out to you or you found interesting or were surprised by.

I remember back in the day when Oleg Maddox played with his nickname he was chased by almost all of the players of the server, they wanted to shoot him down ?, even his allies.

Came across a YouTube video from last year with you narrating. Reminded me of that time I got lost on Freemont Street and some dude offered to help me find my way back to the hotel. I woke up 2 days later in a bath full of ice minus a kidney. Still, was a good vacation.
