Aircraft explosion dynamics/modeling

This video is great at showing actual aircraft shoot downs starting about half way into the video.  Please note to turn sound off when viewing this video, else it's umberable.

Hope the development team can include the huge uniform fireball explosions seem several times in this video (appears to be from fuel spreading out in all directions somewhat uniformly) since these types of effects are not modeled in the sim yet, if time permits.

By the way, I could care less about campaings, to me all that matters is the online sim world for dogfights and team missions.  If all the time was spent in making the online experience top notch then there would be no doubt about the game's standing and would attract a larger fan base in my opinion.

Thank goodness you aren't in charge of this title, then.

Agreed. Campaigns are why I play flight sims :)

majority of the "fireball" videos you see there are from Japanese aircraft, which didn't use self sealing tanks, so they were more likely to turn into a blazing fireball than other others, not to mention that they're literally being hammered with dozens of HE and incendiary AA rounds.

Fireballs did happen, but in the ETO were more common when external fuel tanks were hit.
