Bomb sight

Hi, as the title suggests I would like to know if there is any plan for improvement in this area.

 

First, I believe it should be necessary for the player to calculate the TAS, not use the IAS. That's not difficult to do.

 

Second, we should have the terrain elevation in the map so we could correct subtract from the altitude. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the altimeter in the bomb sight view is reading the height above the departure airfield, wich works for most of the maps in Il-2, but using the actual altitude above sea level together with the elevation in the maps would be better in my opinion.

 

Last but not least, the bomb sight view is quite generic. We could have the knobs and adjustments looking like the real plane. I don't mind if the current layout is kept as it is, but at least some visual adjustments to the knobs would give it a more distinctive appearance.

Terrain altitude is not very important. It will make almost no difference to your bombing. Even if you have a 20% altitude error, it will only result in a few meters error in the bomb drop.

I wish that the bombsights in this game could be like how they are in IL-2 1946 and Cliffs of Dover/Desert Wings as those 2 games have the most realistic use of bombsights.

For me it is quite important to keep it as precise as possible, or preferably as closest to the real airplane as possible.

This bug with the bombsight I've never seen before. Really weird stuff. I know it is a small development team, but it is just a shame that they don't give the proper attention to that. It is one of the most important aspects of a WW2 flight simulator in my opinion.

Interesting, I didn't know this. I bought COD blitz recently on sale but my old laptop can't handle it. I am planning on building a new pc this year, but with the current prices of the GPUs (when you find it) I'll have to wait. Depending on how real is the level bombing at COD/DWT I don't think I'll touch BOX as long as they don't fix it.
