A minor note: The Sturmjager additional armour when combined with the removal of the outer wing guns allows one to reduce the armament to 2xMG151... the inboard guns carry about 2/3rds of the ammunition - so one remains quite well armed. The overall weight increase is also kept low by the lack of MG-17.

 

I'm a bit curious if the weight of the sturmjager modification (34 kg) takes into account the weight of removing the MG-17 (72kg)... i.e. is the Sturmjager actually 106kg of additional armour? If it isn't then selecting it would lead to a 38 kg reduction in weight (due to the removal of the MG-17).

 

Anyway, if one wants to dogfight with just two 20mm cannons, the sturmjager seems to be a better choice than picking the G-3 (although altitude could also play a role - given the engine differences?).

Around 100 kg off armor sounds legit to me. Just compare it to what other modifications add when adding additional armor.

 

- 109 E7 (89 kg for just the bottom)

- 110 E2 245(!) kg for the engines and radiators

- 87 D3 60 kg for just two side panels

- 190 U17 218 kg for the bottom and engine cone (and offcourse the c3 boost tank)

No, it's just taking into account the additional armor added to the plane and isn't assuming any other weapons have been added or removed.

That would be only 34kg for additionnal two armoured side windshield and two additionnal armoured lateral canopy glass

btw, does it make a noticeable difference to have it ?
