The questions are derived from the Discord poll, but the people answering on the Forum are not necessarily those people. That's why the poll is here. It's using the same questions so that the data is useful. Putting out two polls with different questions and then combining them defeats the point.

 

Now, we can argue about MP flyers being possibly over-represented on the forum but we have no data on that, and a response poll to determine that would be biased in favour of people who post more and are more likely to participate, which may still over-represent MP flyers (or SP flyers). 

Without actual 'census' style data showing associated information with the demographics of your polling population, any poll may have bias that you can't isolate for, because you can't identify what the bias might be, you can only guess and try to tweak your polling somehow...introducing your own bias of what the player base looks like.

Anyway, there's only one MP-focused option on the list, all the other ones affect things across the game and are player-type agnostic. And, as has been pointed out, a lot of things that would optimize online play would pay dividends for people playing complex singleplayer missions and help with the time dilation issue some people experience. If you reduce the load from AI, mission objects, mission logic, etc. during mission building it doesn't matter if you make it for Dogfight or Single Player, everybody benefits. Whether significant improvements are possible within the framework of the engine is another question.

The only thing missing for SP is improvements to the Career Mode or QMB.

In addition to the poor comms, don’t forget improved AI performance and abilities.  Plus a much needed overhaul of the radio command system and interaction with the tower.

I voted AI because there are several flaws and issues with it, I mean a LOT. DM comes in 2nd, some glaring issues like .50, 109, and many planes being able to leak coolant and oil forever. But the AI takes the cake because it can look bad in so many ways and its what cripples SP quality the most.

I voted other. I'd like to see engine modeling improved, with at least some attempt to model knock at high MP/low RPM settings, more granular temperature modeling within the engine, and fully useful cockpit gauges, such as oil and fuel pressure.

No.1 DM and ammo (invincible 109 tail, overdone spit tail DM and tail DM behaviour overall being realistic).

 

Would also add to it netcode and AI/units hit on performance and better cpu utilization.

I'm more than happy with the current progression of the game as it is. It's sometimes not until you spend some time away that you realise how good and immersive the game is. None of the votable items detract from my gaming experience.  What I am waiting with excitement to be addressed is the completion of new Normandy map and the british aircraft being modelled.

I will say the .50 vs. HE nukes is the biggest issue, followed closely by flap abuse. seems German planes are the worst offender in multiple categories

I play mostly single player career mode. These are the thing that most impact on my games:

 

1 - Time dilation

2 - Super bright landing lights.

3 - Enemy AI unable to start a fight if you attack during their landing. If you intercept the enemy after they started the landing procedures (turned landing lights on), you can shut them down one by one. They just don't fight back. This is the most unrealistic aspect of single player I've seen so far.

I agree with you. The career mode still lacks the immersion we'd expect. 

 

Radio is very simple too, I wish we could ask for vectoring, help, enemy information  and landing authorization/priorization. I really miss Europen Air War radio when I'm playing IL-2.

 

Radio messages are also repetitive, boring and lack real useful information.

 

The career mode lacks some important stats too. For example, you don't know how many specific models you shot down. I'd love to know how many Yaks, Migs, Bf109 I've shot down so far.

 

I feel the career doesn't explore weather and time of the day too. I was playing some scripted campaigns and flying before dawn was pretty amazing.

The airfields are empty and lifeless. 

We could have more objects / animations during take off / landing.  I don't care of the engine completely remove those objects after I take off, it would be important to have them there when the mission starts.

 

Aí also needs some fixing for single player. The most noticeable issue in my opinion is when they are landing. You can kill them all, they just don't fight back.

 

On the other hand, I feel the DM and FM are good enough for single players.

Although it does look like one of the 'DM' issues listed is getting addressed next patch, hopefully for good.

Performance.  Everything from how many elements can be in a mission to how many bombers can be in a mission to how well does time compression work is affected by performance. 

 

AI used to be my #1.  While that will never be perfect it is much better than it used to be, so IMHO that can go on hold for awhile.

For tanks:

 

Invisible objects damaging the tank.

Turret turning own its own / locking when changing positions.

Stutters when there are clouds.

Invincibility period when spawning in mp.

I voted for first item, but, as I said in another thread, are many the things excessive in this game. This one pointed out by Missionbug is one of them, perhaps the most annoying.

1.) Time Compression, could be higher than 8x

 

2.) Career Mode, could be more immersive (it´s often monotonous)

 

3.) No more Enemy Planes disappearing in mid air (in Career Mode i saw this)

 

4.) Bigger, for Example: "Fuel Capacity" and other Buttons (the tiny, little Arrow or Triangle could be bigger or have a coloured Backround which shows its size, for better aiming onto the Buttons, Functions)

 

5.) Editable icons over the Planes

 

6.) Tank Career Mode would be great

 

7.) Tank controls can´t 100% be mapped as Personally liked (it´s ok but could be better)

 

8.) German Tanks with AA Mg´s on the Commanders Cupola as addable option

 

I Love the Game. It´s a Good starting Base, but there is more possible. When I remember the Days of IL-2 1946, I Played Hours a Day, in IL-2 BoX, I Play 1 or 2 Missions and then turn on to Something Different cause i´m tired, or bored or something. I Bought the Parts BoS, BoK, BoB, BoM, TC, Hs-129, Fw 190 D-9, Fw 190 A-3, Bf 109 G-6 and the Fortress on the Wolga Campaign and it still Feels that its a little flat or there must be more something. Didn´t wanted to sound so disappointed, I am not. but that´s my feeling. Thanks for asking us Bye.

There is only one thing 'spoiling' the game for me and it's zombie gunners. It's a major skill-stealer and one that seriously impacts DiD (Iron Man) co-op play. But given it's been ignored for literally years I don't believe it'll ever be addressed and work-arounds will have to suffice unfortunately.

I personally selected mission maker. My problem with missions isn't the mission it self its the enemy ai following you home relentlessly. My post below. This is honestly the only real complaint I have. I love the career mode but being chased home by crazied enemy ai is frustrating and its why I really only use pwcg now.
