Enceladus828 Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 (edited) As stated in the title, this is just a fan based poll and is not any means of an official question by Team Fusion. Also, this is based on the notion that there will be at least another module after Desert Wings-Tobruk and that TF would be covering a place where these aircraft saw considerable action, and TF had the resources and/or was willing to make these aircraft. My answers 1. Sunderland 2. Do-17 (though it most likely won't happen) Edited February 13, 2021 by Enceladus 3
Missionbug Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Difficult to pick just two, for various reasons all have something to bring to the game and in a ideal world all would be available. Anson and He-115 are what I went for. No special reason for the choice, the Blenheim Mk.I if there was not already a version of the type flyable or the Walrus with the the Do-17 for the Axis. Take care and be safe. Wishing you all the very best, Pete. 2
343KKT_Kintaro Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Sames as Missionbug: a too difficult choice. Although the Anson, the Defiant, the Walrus and the He-115 were very appealing to me... I finally went for the four-engine beasts: the Sunderland and the Condor! 2
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted February 13, 2021 Team Fusion Posted February 13, 2021 Hello Sorry Guys, but none of these aircraft, with exception of the Walrus, is in our current plans to make flyable in the next module. The Walrus, along with an HE-59C might be made flyable if we decide to implement an air/sea rescue system... but this is a lower priority and unlikely for TF 6.0. There are also many other types which are much more popular which would be a priority to build first in any future modules. (FW-190A, Ju-87D, Typhoon, P-51A, B-17, B-24, etc. etc.) 5 1
Redwo1f Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 .....oooooooh, some possible spoiler alerts? ??
FurphyForum Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Bummer, would of been nice if the the Dornier was in Buzzsaw's list 1

The FW-190A has been listed as a priority for the next module for a couple years. The other aircraft I have listed would be logical steps as the game moves into 1942-43... but this list is not an official one. We will make an official announcement this spring or late winter. 4 1 1
FTC_Karaya Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) There's lots of options on top of the ones already mentioned. The Bf110F comes to mind, the early Bf109G (G-1 to -4) of course, the early Spitfire Mk.IX (with Merlin 61 engine), the Spitfire Mk.Vc as well as clipped wing versions of both Mk.Vb & c with the cropped Merlin 45M series of engines, the Beaufighter Mk.VI, the Macchi C.200, the Kittyhawk Mk.II with licence built Packard Merlin, the Hawk75 for the French and Vichy French air forces, the P-38F & G models, various Allison powered models of the Mustang (Mustang Mk.I, P-51A, A-36), the Ju88C-6 & A-4, maybe even an A-17 torpedo bomber variant, A-20C Boston as mid-war replacement for the Blenheim, a carrier capable Martlet (Mk.IV), Seafires and SeaHurricanes and an (escort) carrier to go with them, list goes on... 343KKT_Kintaro Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Hey Karaya, in my opinion the planes TFS is planning to model will depend on the chosen theatre of operations. That latter has already been chosen, whatever the theatre may be, so, because my suspicion goes to the Torch landings, out of the list you mentioned I'd say that at least the following may be in the present TFS work in progress: - Hawk75 for the French and Vichy French air forces (this has been confirmed recently... I think) - Martlet Mk.IV - Seafire - Sea Hurricane - "and an (escort) carrier to go with them" (no need of escort carriers, but offensive first-line carriers... Illustrious? Formidable? Victorious?)
FTC_Karaya Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Of course the selection of aircraft ultimately depends on TFS' choice of theater, that should be fairly obvious. TFS are free to expand on Western Europe, the Med or North Africa. Some of the mentioned aircraft only fit one of those theaters, some multiple. That said I think you are far off with your suspicion regarding the next expansion. As much as I'd like to see carriers in the game I don't think that we're going to see those before a potential 7.0 expansion. That crosses out all of the naval aircraft. Also the only aircraft that so far has been confirmed for 6.0 is the FW190. That makes a Hawker Typhoon, as counter to the 190, very likely. Everything else we will just have to wait and see. 1

The announcement of the Curtiss H75 happened before this recent announcement of a Fw 190... but the developer who had announced the H75 quickly edited his post: he deleted the affected line in the post. This would mean only two things: the H75 is no longer planned as a flyable... or maybe this announcement was considered as an infringement by his hierarchy. Regarding this developer, I feel too much respect for him and TFS, so I won't unveil any name. 4 minutes ago, Karaya said: That makes a Hawker Typhoon, as counter to the 190, very likely. I-WVoss Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Tobruk lacks a much more iconic Italian bomber, if you like the Br20, and it is the Savoia Marchetti SM79 also known as Gobbo Maledetto. 4

Yep bomber version for those low level late 42 early 43 raids being chased by FW190A Snappers - the channel map is well suited if it could be pushed just a tad eastwards into Belgium and Holland! Then add some Rockets for the Beau A a bit more ordinance - 90lb incendiaries and we are away! 2

Cordialement
ATAG_Flare Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Real close call between the Blennie I and Defiant for me. The Defiant has never been done and it is a really interesting plane. Would be fun to see if it could even be somewhat effective with a human pilot and gunner combo. The Blennie I is just so cool looking, I know we have the IV already, but the I could go faster apparently so I'd take it in a hearbeat.
FurphyForum Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Yeah the Defiant in some night missions would be interesting.
