-=[]=-little-Guardian Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 I'm always blown away by the love for detail of your skins . . . your alpha channels are just amazing Thanks a lot! the little Guardian 1 1
SR603-Flowbee Posted February 13, 2021 Author Posted February 13, 2021 (edited) I've changed the numbers to bring them more inline as well as fixing a couple of other things including the wrong type of cross on the fuselage. I tend to focus so much on texture that the decals are always an afterthought and trip me up due to lack of due attention. Thanks for the feedback. Updated skin link above. Angry_Kitten Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 tried downloading, but when i did it redirected me to a page that tells me i need to download a "windows driver"
SR603-Flowbee Posted February 15, 2021 Author Posted February 15, 2021 The skin is hosted by Mediafire. Mediafire makes money by hosting adverts downloads etc. This is a common practice. The skins are free, the service is free. If you cannot differentiate between the skin download and the various adverts please do not attempt to download it. I didn't think it would be necessary to explain this as it is part and parcel of internet usage. My free allocation of space is almost used up so I will move to another web host who will undoubtedly use a similar business model. If the skins were paid for then they could be hosted on a site that is paid for and there would be no need for adverts. I am surprised that this comes as news. Perhaps it is now necessary for me to add a caveat of download at your own risk. Then again maybe internet usage should be covered by a global caveat of at your own risk and I would be surprised if it isn't already. 2
SR603-Flowbee Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 Having come across a genuine as opposed to colourised photo of an Me109F4 Trop in Africa belonging to JG27 with a yellow tactical cowl flash I thought I would add that version as well. It is unclear whose aircraft it was but given Marseille's fame there is a good chance it might have been his. Also just in case anyone is wondering why the aircraft of a famous ace should be so dirty, there is something the desert has a shortage of. And it isn't the lack of women as Marseille was once quoted as being the main reason for his success there. https://mega.nz/file/JgtEGarZ#F36wSSRedlrwPE6TDYs_xvmJT_zJp4AO0KTueTbKXDc 7 2 4
JG_deserteagle540 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 (edited) Another masterpiece like all of your skins! Thanks a lot. I would love to make another request. What do you think about the following skins? They are FW190A8/F8"s, but I was thinking that it might look great on the new A6 too. Just a thought, nothing more. SR603-Flowbee Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 (edited) Thanks, I'm always looking for ideas. I particularly like the third one. Edited February 19, 2021 by SR603-Flowbee 1
JG_deserteagle540 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 There are many talented persons in this community who make beautiful skins, but your skins and the skins of Pozsgay & DetCord12B have something really special. The weathering, alpha layer and dirtiness of your skins bring the job to another level which most skinners can't reach. Your skins reflect how the planes were in field and not when they just left the factory with a new fresh shiny paint job applied. Exactly how I like it! Congratulations! I found those images here: https://luftwaffeprofile.blogspot.com/ So all credits go to those guys. The extraordinary camouflage pattern of the above airplanes called my attention. They really stand out compared to the "normal paint' jobs. Here is another different paint job for a Bf109F2 1
SR603-Flowbee Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 That skin reminds me of an idea Iwas playing about with about a year ago for a semi historical 109F4 but never finished. Maybe I will work on it again as the weathering and dirt layers are already in place and the alpha layer is half done already. I will see if I can find some original photos of Hans Phillip's aircraft to see if I can come up with something. 1 2
SR603-Flowbee Posted February 19, 2021 Author Posted February 19, 2021 There are many artists impressions of Hans Phillip's aircraft but I have found incredibly few actual photos. I'm going to keep working on getting my semi-historical JG54 109 done and then see about converting it to a historical version. I didn't realise that the whole of JG54 where using variations of the same pattern at this time. I've looked at hundreds of images in the last few hours. Time for a break. ..and that emblem needs attention. 6 2
SR603-Flowbee Posted February 19, 2021 Author Posted February 19, 2021 That's my semi-historical version finished. I just spent a few hours going around in circles . Next is doing at least one historical version. Here is a link to it if you are curious.. https://mega.nz/file/FhMDzCiY#-XoqFT6cHBcwCekkkXwvj_PGGllki8BZmHn1KtfDS_w 3 5 1
SR603-Flowbee Posted February 20, 2021 Author Posted February 20, 2021 (edited) My impression of Bf109 F2/F4 Oblt. Hans Philipp 4./JG 54. I've created a new topic for this one rather than to leave it under Marseille's topic but here is the link as well. I've fixed the chopped kill marking on the tail. It fits both the F2 and F4. http://www.mediafire.com/file/vgncamfdrwgrvi5/4K+Bf+109+F-4+public+JG54+Hans+Philipp+v7.dds/file Edited February 21, 2021 by SR603-Flowbee 3 1 1
