As I am a bit bored waiting for my GPU I am looking at going for a Ryzen 5800x and x570 mb to replace my i7 8086K @5Ghz. My memory is Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200Mhz 4 x 8GB Would the memory work and would it be worth doing? If your new x570 board is daisy chain RAM socket topology your can lose performance by having four memory sticks fitted. My understanding is that most of the mainstream x570 Mother Boards are Daisy chained. In my MSI tomahawk when 4 memory sticks were fitted I had a 10% reduction in overall memory performance so I now only run 2 x 8Gb in slots 2 & 4 Personally I would look for a faster 2 x 8 Gb combo if only interested in IL2. Consider 2 x 16 Gb if wanting to run MS Flight Sim as it can use some of the extra RAM. The 5800x responds well to faster RAM (up to 4000MHz) with IL2. I got good results with Patriot Viper Steel Series DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 4400MHz PC4-35200 which is quite cheap. Did have to try two sets however to get a good pair. dburne Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Agreed I will always choose 2 stick over 4 when I can. 1

The 2 x 8Gb 4400MHz RAM (Samsung B-die) I purchased was a bit less than $100 U.S. Other brands of the same spec should be under $200 Agreed that Samsung B-Die 2 x 16 Gb will push the budget a bit/ a lot but IL2 does not need 32 Gb. I would note however that you will be wasting the performance of your RTX 3090 investment if you do not upgrade your RAM. I would guestimate going back to Two RAM sticks (if Daisy Chain MB) and doing some simple RAM OC tuning could easily result in a 15% performance gain in IL2 fps. Go into VR, bring up the Steam menu dashboard by pressing the button next to Windows key (controllers are required). Look for the new icon readimg Mixed reality settings or something similar. In there you can browse the settings and find the one which allows you to control motion reprojection per game. I don't remember the exact name, feel free to share it again. You need to flick that switch. Then take headset off, restart SteamVR (always via "mixed reality for SteamVR") and check SteamVR individual game settings - there is a drop-down menu that actually works properly now. You can then select between auto-reprojection, forced reprojection, and reprojection off. S! Wolf, I'm out of town right now. Once I get back I'll try your suggestions and let you know the results. I appreciate the help, buddy. HB
