The images are resized because 3840 pixels wide would be too wide to show here, but you get the idea. Result: you see much more laterally. In my 43" monitor I have tested three UW modes: 3840*1080, 3840*1440 and 3840*1600. The feeling doesn't convince me. In air-to-air combat it's a bit dizzying. But it undoubtedly improves situational awareness (I know this is not VR). Personally I have returned to my standard 4K resolution (3840*2160). But I'll take this opportunity to show them off. jollyjack Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 The second pic: UFO sighting? I stick with 3840*2160, but i know some one mad about his ultra wide curved 4k screen ..

ICDP Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 I remember trying eyefinity when it first came out, 3x 24" 1080p monitors and it lasted no more than a few months. The excessive fish eye distortion near the edges in your screenshots show why. I understand it is down to personal preference but the serious distortion is just too jarring for me. I know this is not to the same extent but your screenshots aren't exactly selling the format as "wow" Until devs find a way to work around these distortions I will never find ultrawide a useable format for gaming.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 (edited) ratio is the key 21:9 is much better for side spotting than 16:9, but how about 32:9 how big is the side distortion ? I would like to see more height in monitors there are x :10 but it is all I think. Edited March 21, 2021 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk
BladeMeister Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I have to say that I think all of the pics you have posted here look good to me. I understand that being in front of that monitor setup may change my mind, but I like what I am seeing here. I have just purchased a Samsung 32" G7 2560x1440 monitor with a 1000 curve. I had 11 days to test drive it and ended up liking it and keeping it. It all comes down to personal taste I suppose as long as the monitor has good PPI. The Samsung G9 Ultra wide curved monitor is similar to what you show here, but I like the 2560x1440 format better. S!Blade<><

GeorgeCostanza Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 (edited) Is anyone here coming from a 32" 1440p/75Hz IPS (16:9) to an Ultrawide? I have an unopened Gigabyte G34WQC that I'm mulling opening or returning. My main concern is the loss of about 2" vertically. I mainly fly IL2 and DCS, but also play a lot of Dirt Rally 2.0 among other games (I don't play FPS other than Squad). Any thoughts? I really like the 32" I have, but think I'm somehow missing out. I paid $269 CAD for the one I have now, $539 CAD for the one in the box. This is what I have now: https://www.costco.ca/lg-32-in.-qhd-ips-freesync-monitor-(2560-×-1440).product.100514955.html Edited April 13, 2021 by GeorgeCostanza
