CH quadrant - works in settings, not in game

Hello all.

I've been using a warthog stick, CH Pro throttle and Thrustmaster pedals without issue since I bought IL2 a few months ago.

Today I plugged in a CH throttle quadrant. It's recognised by windows and all functions work. It works in 'key assignment' settings in the game - it's seen as joy_10. But having assigned buttons in the settings they don't actually do anything in game.

Any ideas?

You're not using the CH Manager by chance? I think it is obsolete and can cause problems. Otherwise, I don't know. My CH quadrant has always worked great. I do only have joy_0, _1, and _2 though, not 10!

No, I'm not using CH Manager.

I have a racing sim setup here too, so wheel, pedals & h-shifter. Windows sees 8 devices, not sure it's number 10.

Seems that game see only 8 controllers (joy, throttle, quadrant, pedal, button box, gamepad... TrackIR count).

If you don't have that many controllers try rename "Devices.txt (in ...\Data\Input\ folder) for force game re-enumerate all, maybe will be required re-assign controls.

I can confirm that the CH Throttle Quadrant does work in game, though I also use CH Control Manager - but that shouldn't be necessary.

My CH Quad works great in game, no Control Manager software at all. Plug and Play. Try using a USB 2.0 input instead of a newer USB 3.0 or 3.1? These things are pretty old (When was the last time CH redesigned these things the late 90's?)

This worked, thanks. It had old controllers in there.

Now I have a different problem: nothing I map to elevator trim or aileron trim works.  The button I've mapped to reset trim does work. Any ideas? (This was working fine before I deleted the input folder.)

One can also remove unused old USB drivers with USBdeview.exe. The white ones only.

Hello,

I had received a new joystick as a gift and when trying to map the buttons , I had the exact same problem. The buttons would bind properly in the controller set-up, however would not work when flying. I tried a bunch of different things via researching the internet and was going to just do a reinstall of the sim. I found something however, that I decided to try and it worked. I have the sim completely backed up and would recommend the same before doing this. Also, just for simplicity sake, I backed up my "updates" folder and my "input" folder located in " data " folder for a quick fix if things really went bonkers.

So, all I did was to go into the main Il-2 folder---  path is ,  IL-2/updates,   delete the contents of this "updates" folder and retstart your sim and let it refresh everything and then try mapping things again. Please note, there is an "updater" folder located in the "data" folder, do not mistakenly delete contents of this one. Again "updates" folder is the one you will see when you open the IL-2 main folder.

It worked great for me and everything mapped and worked fine.

Hope this may be of some help.

---Cheers---

Forget that, I was mapping to the wrong thing.

All working now, thanks all.
