flak1962 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 hi guys had a problem with my ch pro's , left toe brake stopped working, turned out to be a cut wire to the pot ,have now finally managed to fix this after a lot of fiddling putting it all back together correctly, but although its working fine and calibrated in windows 10, il2 gb settings doesnt see the brakes anymore but still recognises the rudder axis! anyone got any ideas please? thanks in advance
Sokol1 Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 (edited) If the brakes are working in Windows calibration test (joy.cpl) no reason for don't work in the game. Try renaming the file "Devices.txt" in \Data\Input\ folder. And, hold brake pad pressed, open assignment window, release brake, in some controllers some axis need do the assignment inverted. von_Tom Posted February 8, 2021 Posted February 8, 2021 Sometimes you need to press and release the toe brake a few times for it to register. Then check in-game to make sure it isn't reversed i.e. brake on and pressed to release. When I had CH Pro pedals I had the same issue and lots of dancing around on the pedals got it to register. von Tom
flak1962 Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 yeah done all that thanks it wasn't ever a problem until i unplugged them to fix them
flak1962 Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 okay tried all your suggestions and no luck yet sorry to say! its really strange cos even the toe brake without the original problem doesnt work not registering in game at all only in win10 devices setup, and now in the ch programme too which ive just downloaded to try altho never used this before thanks anyways cheers
Sokol1 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 You don't need CH Manager for use this pedal in Il-2 (or other flight "simulator"). will be just a complication more. Again, you already check if the pedal brakes are working OK in Windows Games Controllers? Click in Start button and type joy.cpl hit Enter for fast access.
flak1962 Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 yes have done of that and deleted ch manager now ,it was just to see if it would do anything different, but still the same thing going on wont recognise toe brakes at all no matter how much you try ,rudder axis works fine! dont know else to do now it kind of spoils my setup without them!
Sokol1 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 (edited) You don't answer if brake pedals pads work in Windows Game Controllers (joy.cpl), if don't work there will not work in any game. if work, take nome of the brake pads axes. Open the file current.action (with Notepad) located in game folder... \Data\Input, locate this lines. rpc_yaw, joy2_axis_z, 0| // Plane control: yaw Take of of joystick name, if joy2 like above or joy1, joy3... This is the number that game give for your rudder pedal. Then find the lines: rpc_wheel_brakes_left, 0| // Left wheel brakes rpc_wheel_brakes_right, 0| // Right wheel brakes And change for: rpc_wheel_brakes_left, joy2_axis_x, 0| // Left wheel brakes rpc_wheel_brakes_right, joy2_axis_y, 0| // Right wheel brakes In joy2_axis_x use the joy number you see in Yaw, may are different of the example. Save and test brakes in game. If work but brake axes end inverted, change the number in 0| // Left wheel brakes for 1| // Left wheel brakes, same for Right wheel brakes. If are 1 change to 0. MSgt_Cooter Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 FWIW... this worked for me Hold Toe Brake down (on CH Rudders)... THEN click the box in "Key Mapping" to set the control. After you click, pump the brake a couple times.
