Improve contact sighting and ID tag options

I really love Il-2’s flight model realism and beautiful graphics. It’s fantastic. But sighting contacts should be easier, or at least there should be an option to make it easier. There is a certain game that is a peer of Il-2 that is more arcade which does spotting much better. You can see contact from a couple miles away quite easily in VR in this competitor game.

 

Even though I prefer Il-2 overall, I will often fly this other game when I want to play multiplayer simply because spotting is so much less of a chore. 
 

In Il-2, the new option that makes contacts really large at a distance, and then shrink to normal size upon closing, looks pretty odd too. This other game where distant contacts just look like a tiny blob, but a visible blob, does it much better.

 

Maybe an option to just use the normal Il-2 spotting plus a red or blue dot at 1-3 miles would suffice, only on friendly planes.

 

Anyways, I hope something  can be done. I’d much rather fly Il-2, but it’s got to be fun. Right now, at least in VR, it’s just too much of a chore without using the ID tags. Unfortunately, the current ID tags are pretty immersion breaking since they are on all planes and include range data, etc..

For me last year improvments in visability are good for playing game when i dont wont to use icons.

Where i see they can improve is in ading icon options to server in MP , and player in SP.

Options like we had in Il-2 1946 and Il-2 CloD, so you can change that you can only see icons of frendly or enemy , icons as dots, make them show color or just be grey, make them display only at selected distances and so on...

Online i like to play on servers without icons but offline i always have icon option enabled and then turn them off or on when i need as i dont like how they work now to be able to have them on  all time.

I dont play in VR so i dont know how good spoting is without icons in VR, but without it after last years update visability withut icons is best it was ever in game for me and i hope they dont mess with it for some time.
