W7 cut/copy and paste bug...

Does anyone have this bug in W7? It is infuriating. I have searched around and so far none of the fixes I have found have worked. What happens is.. Say I wanted to cut/copy a line of text into this post ... I can go to the source text and it wll cut/copy fine.. but when I go to paste it paste is greyed out.. Sometimes I can do one maybe two.. then BAM it hits and it will not work anymore. This is very frustrating and so far I have found no solution.. Anyone else seeing this... ?

I don't have W7 (still on XP) but maybe the solution by Ruraltownsisp in the link below helps?

Seemed to have solved problems by many other W7 users.

If not there are some other solutions in that thread.

Still no joy on this.. and the Read Only bug is a real PITA as well.. I tell you I can't stand MS... These are both very well known issues and MS has just said screw you to all their customers..  They are well aware of the problem and do absolutely nothing at all.. but try to push W8 on you.. Other than these two major issues W7 is a decent OS..

Of course I have they do not work.. The paste option is greyed out or not even there sometimes.. Not only that.. with the Read Only bug.. any changes I make in the sim do not take because the entire folder is set to read only.. so if I addanother QM.. it is gone when I reboot.. if I change skins in a QM gone when I reboot.. I detest MS .. All they want is your money.. and their service STINKS. If you google these two bugs you will be amazed at how common they are and how long they have been in existence.. and nothing fixes it..

I agree. I never had Vista but I hear that W7 is Vista minus the major headaches. Just a few really annoying ones.

I found a solution to the C&P bug for now.. although the read only thing is still a PITA. If you are going to C&P in W7 and you find that the Paste section is greyed out... highlight the area you want to copy.. and copy by either R click copy or CTRL+C at least twice in succession.. and I have not had the problem.. When I want to cut I just copy as mentioned above.. and once I get it to paste I go back and delete the line I just copied from the original text.. It is a hassle but it is the only work around I have found for that so far.. I don't know who else has this issue.

Sorry you are facing that problem with copy & paste on W7. Mine, on W7 64, is of the same sort but, IMHO, even more bizarre: sometimes I copy & paste a text in a web to find out that it pastes things I haven't copied! I mean, the shaded text differs from what I get copied. It's like some hidden text that adds itself to the original I wanted to copy. It's, let's say it in a polite way, surprising, to say the least.    The only solution is erasing the 'extra' text but I have always to check out after which is something I shouldn't worry about should it workas expected. But, as you say, it's MS wonderworld, I guess.
