Thanks for sharing, yeah interesting.

 

I'd been aware of some of the benefits of having neutral-to-weak stability in the Spitfire, due to its reputation of sustaining a maneuver that a pilot initiated without lots of continued control input... thus giving that unique impression of doing what the pilot was "thinking".

 

What I didn't realise was how significant the operational limitations were, it's good to hear both ends of the coin.
