LOL if we call this a "controversy" then the real controversial stuff (like PTO, 109 invincibility, Me 262 in MP servers, etc...) is a severe understatement.

Pre-Order means you support the whole adventure, that you trust the IL-2 team will deliver what they promise.

Premium means an enthusiast support. 

Buying from the IL-2 store means that nothing goes to Steam but all goes to IL-2.

All this wrapped together deserves gold and I think it is fair that way.

 

This said, my two cents proposal here. I think that maybe, and it is only food for thought, we could imagine a special ribbon say "platinum" or something other but different, that will be for those that came later on and buy the game on the store, but would like to show a special support for the IL-2 adventure and are willing to buy the game at a premium price which is higher than the pre-order premium price.  A kind of late comer super-premium. Some are frustrated not to have the ribbons which I can understand. So they could get the platinum one be happy and Jason have some more income to finance the BOP chapter. It would be a win-win situation.

To the contrary you are a rarity, which means more valuable. Completely badgeless you must now stay. Difficult and hard is that road you have chosen to travel. Along that road strange creatures of temptation will try to corrupt you with promises of a wonderland where you can swim in a sea of badges. Resist, stay pure. Alas, I fear I will soon be defiled by the allure of the Normandy DLC.

 

Even though I'll probably hate the 410's sluggish handling, I'll have to buy Normandy the moment it comes out. That's all I'm waiting for. And the Spit, secondarily; but I don't need to buy Normandy for that. 

 

The only planes I'll probably end up putting through career paces, are the 109 Late and Spitfire. Everything else will just be quick mode screwarounds.

I believe the brown [  IL2  ] badge was originally a Tester and the red [  IL2  ]  badge is a Dev. They quit updating those and the Member, Tester, Founder, etc. tags a while ago.

 

Now you don't know who to believe...
