VR view limit disabled - still present in gunner and MG seat

Hey all. VR view limit (where your head is moved back when it is touching things it cannot go through) is something that gets me a little nauseous. I was able to disable it for airplanes, but in tanks its a condition that stays on no matter what I do if I am controlling either the gun or the machinegun. The driver and commander seat appear fine. When I lean in forward to look through a sight/window/periscope IL-2 pushes me back slowly. Any tips?

I have the VR limit disabled and have allowed spectators turned on. I'm playing in singleplayer.
