Spitfire MK IX Mixture lever missing ?

Hi there,

 

First of all, Thanks for you work this game is amazing, and thanks for this forum. This is my first post.

Everything is in the title, I was able to see  that in 2018 there still was a mixture lever in the spitfire mk IX on IL2. I cannot see it anymore nor find any information on that matter.

It's correct - the revision of the Mk IX we have did away with the mixture lever.

The pilot notes for the IX, XI and XVI stated (on p12) that “the mixture control is automatic and there is no pilot’s control lever” so was not supposed to be there. Thankfully corrected.

Yes, the mixture control was correctly removed, however, a small leaver should still be there that acts as a mixture cut-off. There is a thread about this bug/suggestion. I don't think it was added yet, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Didn't the Spitfire have a mixture handle?  Why are the Dev dumbing this up?  With the mixture lever you can lean to get back to base when fuel is low, and you can kill the smoke trail so not to be so obvious when trying not to get shot down leaving a furball...why??

The devs at RR were dumbing this up, because they figured automatic mixture should be just that. The later Mk.IX as we have it do not have a mixture lever. Before it got removed in the game, it was sort of a cut off lever and not intended to be used to further lean the mixture (although you could).
