Angry_Kitten Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 control A takes over complete control of my plane. EVERYTHING...... and put me to predetermined heading. But turning it off instantly kills throttle to nothing, thinking throttle might actually be linked to my joy sticks rotate for rudder command.. odd i have to actually go to settings to validate EACH key mapping
RNAS10_Oliver Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Use the auto level rather than auto pilot?
unreasonable Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 (edited) The autopilot should not turn your throttle off - unless that is what you have set when you turn autopilot on. When you turn autopilot off, it should go to whatever you have on your HOTAS throttle control. When you turn on it will set throttle to get to the autopilot's desired speed. BUT: when starting a mission I find the game needs a throttle input to make it "wake up" (to use the technical term ) to where the throttle in your HOTAS is set. This applies to all controls and axes, so I always start a new mission by having a check on all controls to make sure they are responding and calibrated. One reason I do not like air starts. Auto-level IIRC tries to fly level at whatever throttle setting you currently have (which you can change without turning auto-level off). If the throttle is too low for level flight at your altitude, I think it just turns off, but I have not tested recently. Easy enough to check. Edited February 2, 2021 by unreasonable
Angry_Kitten Posted February 2, 2021 Author Posted February 2, 2021 the game was starting me mid air at 4500 in a brisfit... so i think altitude wasnt an issue. The simple A button was given me the "auto pilot on" and lft control +A was giving me "auto pilot on" as well. I know i had to map my joystick up/down/roll/trigger before they would work, even WITH joystick input only selected.
