is it possible to turn off radio chatter in MP ?  .......  sqd flying on comms and SRS , last thing we need is generated radio chatter  :)

I believe you can switch off the radio in the keybindings. There is also a volume setting in the game settings for the radio callouts so you can probably just set that to zero too if you want.

I think it was too , at least in the original IL2 .. but cannot see it now ... ?  probably looking right at me lol :) ... I have also looked in start up config  .. cannot see it anywhere .

Not at my Il-2 computer right now so I can't check, sorry. I'm pretty sure its SOMEWHERE thought lol.

Yes, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\Audio\radio and rename each language file you want silenced.

I use ger1, usa1, rus1 etc to retain the files but not have them recognized in game. Should you wish to play scripted mission or otherwise need to game chat simply revert to the original file name.

thanks Gordon , works a treat !  happy days  ! , and thank you too Red ! , I am sure the original il2 had game options though ?

You don't have to do it this way anymore.

There's a key bind in the sound settings.
