I have asked others while playing if this has happened to them and it doesn't seem like a common problem.

Basically while in VR after I turn my head (typically left or right) and look forward again the camera with drift or shift (almost as though it is trying to find centre). It is really frustrating because not only does it break immersion but it is really frustrating because it basically feels like I am looking through someone else's eyes and the pilot is being very squirmy.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IL-2 as well as completely re-configuring my VR (windows mixed reality HMD) and nothing fixes it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

***Update***

I have rectified the problem, and wanted to provide support in case someone else encounters this. It seemed there was a glitch in the environment data. I solved it by clearing environment data this can be done as so

1. Right Click Start Button

2. Settings

3. Mixed Reality

4. Environment

5. Clear environment data

@GNak29 Sounds like a tracking problem with the headset.

First, make sure your area has sufficient lighting. Second, when you start Windows Mixed Reality move the headset up/down and left/right 180 degs for it to fully orient itself.

You didn't state your headset, but I have had similar issues with my Reverb G2. Finding the best USB port, tuning the lighting, and placing some painters tape on the wall beside my rig in a cross pattern has helped a good bit. Try the flashlight mode to see what your tracking sees. It may be getting blinded by a light or lack of contrasting features on your walls or environment.

Sounds maybe strange but keep your monitor on and do sit infront of your monitor.

Sometimes the light from my monitor interferes with my tracking and turning it off improves it. If I do have it on I try to keep dark images on it like discord.

Have not had a tracking problem in my G2, my room is somewhat dimly lit.

Even controllers do pretty well - no problem with Half Life Alyx or Medal of Honor Above and Beyond.

G2 controller tracking is maybe a step below Oculus controller tracking, headset tracking for me I would say on par with Oculus.

If you're still having issues, make sure you've set your headset up for room scale experience, not the seated mode.

Really? That's counter-intuitive. Why?

I have not yet tried this but I have thought that perhaps the seated mode (which is what I am currently using) is what is causing the issue and the headset is just "getting confused" from time to time, but this will be what I try next when I get the time to do a proper room set up

I should have put a disclaimer about how I haven't had this problem and this is all hearsay, but I remember a post where the guy had an issue with the headset drifting back to re-center and fixed it by setting up a room environment.

The idea is that the room scale tries to match the headset position to the saved map of the room and will just stop working if it doesn't recognize what it sees. The seated mode is more likely to start a new map.

The only drift I see is the one that you get when coming back to F1 from outside views, and exactly the same one occasionally happening randomly at times even when not switching views. Well that does happen in pancake mode as well and it has been an issue ever since. I just mention it because it's especially weird in VR...

I am running windows 10 and have a rift s. I have this same issue but there is no mixed reality when I right click on start and go to settings it just is not there. Also I do not have this issue with other games.
