Startrek66 Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 I would like to point out a possible improvement in the graphic detail of the bf109s used during autumn and winter. Currently the white skin represents the presence of the landing gear covers, which from my research does not represent reality. In fact, to avoid blocking the opening of the landing gear due to ice, the covers were removed. I hope this will serve for the graphic improvement of the models based on the historical period. 1
migmadmarine Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 This could probably be done with the alpha channel on the skin, so should be changeable via a mod for the default skins. 1
Startrek66 Posted January 29, 2021 Author Posted January 29, 2021 (edited) Yes absolutely, I agree. Attached another photo Edited January 29, 2021 by Startrek66
Roland_HUNter Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 Yes they removed it for the K-4 aswell when they used muddy ground airfields. Source:Messerschmitt Bf 109 F, G, and K Series: An Illustrated Study Jochen Prien, Peter Rodeike page 23. Page 28. : Page 71: Page 125. : Page 175. : K-4 1
Startrek66 Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 Obviously this information is useful for the creators of unofficial skins, but at least for the official skin I put in the post it should be updated
Roland_HUNter Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 But with removed leg fairings the 109 has more drag ? so maybe the top speed is less with 5-15 km/h.
