Label Mod question

I  know there a few label mods on here....but I cant get them to work lately

The label mods I have are looking for an "swf" folder in "data" and "fonts" and "icons" folders in "data\graphics" which are not there by default it seems.

when I put these folders in there from the mod still no joy with the in game labels.

All I'm looking for in the label is a tiny dot, that at distance is black or fades to black form nothing then fades to dark blue/dark red just to give me an idea of whose side its on in VR, similar to what I have in another combat sim that shall not be named......or just a coloured dot would be great!!

Unpack the .gtp files first using ungtp:

Ok, now I am baffled :)

I've been under an impression that IL-2 just changed the encryption keys and that's why original unGTP tool couldn't decrypt files, but I've never looked into contents of gtp files.

So I did take a look now... and well... it was easier than I expected.

I assume this means it is ok to make a new version of unGTP.

unGTP-IL2.zip 16.34 kB · 707 downloads

hmmm, used that on a copied swf.gtp

that looks like a whole can o worms.....how do i re-gtp the files if i swap out the default for the modded files

you can't without the re-GTP tool no one seems to have LoL.

the modded ones in the related data folders will be loaded first, then the GTP-ed files that are missing.

No need for that, modding isn't too hard ;)

As jollyjack says, you don't need to re-pack them. Just move them outside of the (null) folder, that's all. So if you want to edit IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\(null)\graphics\example.dds, move it to IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\example.dds and edit it all you want. The game will register the new version. No need to pack it again after that.

i just needed to have mods activated, so no unpacking

but to pass IC for multiplayer i assume  i would need to "Just move them outside of the (null) folder, that's all. So if you want to edit IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\(null)\graphics\example.dds, move it to IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\example.dds and edit it all you want." ?

thanks guys

The best way of installing mods is with JSGME, but you''ll need some file preparation to do that.

If you do that you can easily go back to your original installation without the mods. Wise to do before updating maybe

There are instructions on JSGME elsewhere on this forum.
