Hi guys,

I know it's a bit new still and not many will have it yet, but which detents are you guys using (if any) for warbird simming?

Mine has come with the 'aerobatic' set pre-installed and I'm kind of assuming that either no detents or the classic/classic plus set would be most appropriate.

A description of the sets from the Virpil site follows below

Quote

“Classic” Detents - Lift to pass detents, push return.
“Classic Plus” Detents - Lift to pass detents, push return but with an additional tactile bump immediately after crossing the detent range.
“Warthog-Type” Detents - Lift to pass and lift to return detents.
“Aerobatic” Detents - Push through and push return detents.
“CosmoSim” Detents - Push through central detent.

Thanks in advance

I use the Classic Plus for the idle/off detent, and the Classic for my afterburner detent.

These are my preferences for the DCS Hornet. The Classic Plus gives me a little bump when going from off to idle, then push forward a little to get over the detent hump and hook my two throttles together for takeoffs and flight. From idle to off requires lifting the fingerlifts on the throttle. The classic detent I use for afterburner is a push and pull through with no fingerlift required.

I just added a button in the Virpil software for off, and another for idle. Then just assigned to the controller in DCS menu for off and idle.

The travel from off to idle is only about 8% with the classic plus detent, so I put a deadzone in the game to cover that portion of throttle movement.

Plus the detents can be adjusted some forward and backward by loosening the screw and moving them. Great for fine tuning.

I am very much loving the new CM3 throttle. Detents can easily be removed and replaced. Just be careful with the screw to not cross thread. I very easily cross threaded my afterburner detent screw but was able to still work with it by picking up a slightly shorter screw.

Is there anyway to setup detents so that you can feel when you transition from continuous to Combat power and from Combat power to Emergency power?

That would corresponds to two bumps. I thought acrobatics one where the best to fly warbirds and IL2, but you can have only one detent each side, correct?

So one more for low RPM sector and one for high RPM sector.

I m flying exclusively VR and I am having a lot of trouble to now where I am on the throttle power.

Thank you very much in advance
