343KKT_Kintaro Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 This thead is not for asking assistance... but for bringing it to the developers. There is a very serious translation mistake in the French version of the game, more exactly in the Controls Options. Please see the following screenshots of both versions, in the first place the English version, then the French: In the list of controls in English, there are two lines which are consecutive, "Toggle War Emergency Power" and "Boost Cut-Out". Now, if you go to the French translation, you'll notice how those two lines are translated as if they were intended to activate (first line) the War Emergency Power and deactivate (second line) the so mentioned War Emergency Power ("puissance militaire d'urgenge" is French for "war emergency power"). But this is wrong because in game you do not obtain such effects with such controls. For the translators, the problem develops when it appears that "boost cut-out" is nothing but a technology for one type of "WEP" (please see this source, for example). In our game, the WEP controls do not work for now because, apparently, they are reserved for some future aircraft not yet present in the list of flyables. The "boost cut-out" technology works on board a few planes in the game: Spitfires, Hurricanes, CR.42s and G.50s (maybe even a few more). At any rate, the French translation must be corrected because on the images above you can see that a few lines are wrong. At present, the translation states the following: - Throttle War Emergency Power = Puissance d'urgence - Toggle War Emergency Power = Activer la puissance d'urgence - Boost Cut-Out = Arrêter la puissance d'urgence Please devs, let me know what your translators think about the following corrections: - Throttle War Emergency Power = Puissance d'urgence - Toggle War Emergency Power = Activer/désactiver la puissance d'urgence - Boost Cut-Out = puissance auxiliaire It's only a suggestion so that the game is consistent and understandable for the French-speaking players.
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted January 26, 2021 Team Fusion Posted January 26, 2021 Hello Kintaro Can you post this in the Bugtracker? I will bring this to the attention of the French translation guys.
Sokol1 Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 - Throttle War Emergency Power* is an unfinished/un-tuned command without practical use, so can be hidden from GUI that will not be missed. Boost cut-out is not an WEP or Boost activator, is a physical limiter that need be deactivated for allow boots be engaged - what is controlled (IRL) by throttle lever, is specific for Spitfire Mk.I/II, but in game is used for all British and Italian planes, since controls start being done detailed and end more generic, non specific. * An practical use for Throttle War Emergency Power is if was modeled like in Falcon BMS, where you can set a small area - e.g. 90 - 100% of (joy) throttle for activate the "afterburner". But in CloD you can't use the same axis for two different controls, so that control don't have practical use. If you press the X-52 button 7 the in game throttle goes for 100% regardless of X-52 throttle position - an unrealistic command. This magical 100% is not "WEP" or "Boost" - those are throttle 110%, why this command deserve goes "under the rug", like happens with some other things.

No problem, I'll go to the Bugtracker. 13 hours ago, Sokol1 said: - Throttle War Emergency Power* is an unfinished/un-tuned command without practical use, so can be hidden from GUI that will not be missed. No problem with that, Sokol1, that line in the Controls Options is not my main concern. Indeed: "Boost Cut-Out" is a different line in the Controls Options and affects a few planes only.
