ubik_2008 Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Hello! I just bought the Hurricane Mk II, but I noticed that as opposed to all other planes the max angle of view in the cockpit does not exceed maybe 90°, which makes things a little claustrophobic. Is there a way to fix this?
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 (edited) You can check the actual field of view (default key is "Backspace"; look at the number below the frame rate). The Hurricane FOV should be adjustable from 30 to 105 degrees, just like the other aircraft. Edited January 24, 2021 by Mitthrawnuruodo
ubik_2008 Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 Hi, thanks for your answer. Honestly I hadn't realized that the "second number" is the FOV. And yes, the 105° can be achieved on the Hurri too. The claustrophobic feeling remains though, I guess it has to do with the shape, or the specific arrangement of the cockpit. It seems to me that in general it can't be increased any further, unlike for instance X-Plane just to mention one example.

I find that I have to do that with most planes to find a comfortable balance between FOV (For SA) and readability of the aircraft's gauges. With every aircraft it's different. Thankfully we can save the view settings (Until the next update fails...), unlike our key bindings. 2

Still failing to figure out why this is needed for the Hurri only (for me at least)

I only decrease the zoom to minimum level and then save it. The only planes I really feel the need for additional adjustments are the Hurricane and all of the FW-190's (especially in the Dora), where the default head positioning is too far to front, therefore moving it backwards quite a bit. Try flying a Bf-109G6 (early) After a while when you come back to the Hurricane it'll feel like picnicking in an open field!
