Potential New Recruit - Worth it for VR?

Hi, I've been keeping an eye on Tank Crew for a while and am interested in playing it in VR (Reverb G2 with a 3080).  After reading the forums I'm not sured if it's considered worth bothering with in VR in it's current state as it doesn't seem well optimised, controls are a little VR unfriendly and it sounds like there are a number of issues regarding targetting in VR compared tot he more polished IL2 VR in aircraft that I'm used to.

Obviously some of the issues I've been reading about on the forums will have been resolved by the devs and I know things are still improving.  Any thoughts/observations about it's current state from VR users and whats the current eperience like (assuming I'll have to work around the VR unfriendly controls and set up voice attack at the very least?).

I have a g2 and a 3080. Turn steamss to 70. Graphics high. Clouds med. You should get decent frames.  I also use motion smoothing in TC. When it really counts (sitting still waiting on the enemy or searching the terrain for where the tracer came from) it works well.

TC is on sale now. 

 

Lots of fun on the Finnish server capturing points and blowing up the equipment in camps.

 

For controls. Rudder steers. Throttle is forward/reverse. Stick used to aim the cannon.

 

You can use voice attack to order your crew or the entire platoon. There is a thread in here with an excellent profile to use.

 

I have a Buttkicker under my seat. Getting in the commander position and riding the tank in VR feels awesome. Then hearing those cannons going off and feeling the vibrations...?

I use an xbox controller with my Reverb g2 and I have no complaints. I'm not a tank guy but playing on Finnish in tanks is loads of fun. See Wolfpack345 's vids.
