6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 As a Liason Aircraft the U-2 would have flown Solo quite a lot. As of right now the Choice of flying without Rear MG, Radio etc. still means that you carry a useless Passenger with you, which is around 85kg of Weight that slow you down. When carrying Bombs , that can get annyoing.
1./JG42Nephris Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 (edited) Do you expect the pilot to get counted to the total takeoff weight? Edited January 23, 2021 by 1./JG42Nephris
[DBS]Browning Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 It might be the case that you need sand bags in the empty passenger seat to balance the plane if no passenger is present. If that is the case, you may as well have a passenger.

But even if it was the case, you'd add like a 5kg Weight at the Tip of the Tail and should be fine. A single Pilot and a Full Tank of Fuel should put it near the Forward Limit, a Passenger with an MG at the Rear Limit. And even when the Aircraft is a bit too Noseheavy it isn't really that big of a Deal with a Conventional Tail, much less anyways than going too tailheavy, Edited January 23, 2021 by 6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann 1
Avimimus Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 It'd be great to someday get the single-seat night-bomber use you describe - as well as to get one or two cargo options (e.g. carrying a single paratrooper, or carrying some supplies or a stretchers in support of partisans). They've already given us a lot of armed variants (perhaps missing the PTAB canisters that were trialed on something like a dozen aircraft... and a few other very rare configurations), it is very comprehensive - and we should be extremely happy to have this aircraft. But I agree that its use as a liaison, transport and evacuation aircraft would be great to have. The other thing that would be great - especially if they released the Fi-156 - would be to bring in an expanded form of the artillery spotting mode from Rise of Flight... a little airplane with the ability to direct a bunch of big guns It'd also increase the appeal and sales of these aircraft as it'd be a unique kind of gameplay that other aircraft don't have access to!
Chief_Mouser Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Shoot the passenger in the head with the flare gun (probably use the pistol now as well). That gets rid of the (literally) dead weight. Visually at least. Cheers. 1
migmadmarine Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I hope the introduction of Career mode for FC will bring over the artillery spotting and recon mechanics from RoF as Avimimus suggested. Also, a drop off or pick up officer/messenger/operative (if you want spicy behind the lines missions) would be great using the new off-field landing capabilities, have to fly out to a front line unit and land to drop off a passenger, would need to be able to unload the back seater similar to the cargo unload for the Ju-52.

Btw plane was not stable to fly without additional weight, if they do not took passenger they used other things like sand bags. I did not test it... Edited January 23, 2021 by 1PL-Husar-1Esk
