Ryanair_roccobarbi Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Hi, I have a weird technical issue, but I'm not entirely sure of what steps are needed to consistently reproduce it. I play on screen, with no track-ir, and I use the hat switch on my thrustmaster T.flight stick to pan the pilot's head. I also mapped three positions of the hat switch in combination with left ctrl to manage zoom in, out and reset zoom. Most of the time, this works like a charm. I zoom out for situational awareness, and I zoom in to identify targets and to correct my aim when dive bombing. Sometimes, both in multiplayer (TAW and finnish server) and single player (quick missions), the following happens: I hit F9 the wrong number of times, ending up in one of the other view modes (e.g. snap positions); I move the pilot's head and realize the error; I hit F9 again to get to pan camera mode; whenever I move the pilot's head after zooming in or out, the zoom resets itself to its default zoom (which is too zoomed in imho, giving me a sort of "tunnel vision"). Is there a known way to solve this? Or at least to set the default zoom to a different value?
RedKestrel Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 I think if you set your pilot's preferred head position and zoom and press F10 it should save it as the default for you. Just make sure your pilot's head position is good.
Ryanair_roccobarbi Posted March 13, 2021 Author Posted March 13, 2021 That didn't work, but since then I changed my setting to have "pan camera mode" as the default. The problem hasn't reappeared since then. 1
