RossMarBow Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 this then causes flickering dimming this doesn't seem right
RedKestrel Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 You seem to have a couple issues with stuttering or lag in the game. Could you post your graphic settings, PC specs, and graphics card driver? There might be somthing going on. I've never seen lag or flickering in the fuel slider before. Hitches in the zoom usually were to do with stuttering from loading big textures when zooming in and out, which can happen when your card has too little VRAM for the game to use.

Just spitballing here, but I THINK that it might be something to do with Vsync being on, with no Target FPS - maybe you are getting big frame drops from 144 down to a much lower number when something moves on the screen. You can set a target FPS to match your monitor (144 FPS) or you can set it to be a lower number if your GPU doesn't consistently get 144 FPS for Il-2 (that's a pretty tall order even at 1080p with ultra settings). If FreeSync is compatible with your monitor and activated, you can still have Vsync activated, but Vsync will only turn 'on' if your frame rate drops out of the FreeSync compatible frame rate range. Most of your other graphics settings should be OK, might be affecting frame rates a bit. Distant Buildings is pretty heavy on the GPU. So is Distant Grass, and Clouds especially. But those should not cause any issues in the menu screens. Try putting a Target FPS into Il-2 and see what happens.
RossMarBow Posted January 24, 2021 Author Posted January 24, 2021 (edited) I tried 120 and 100 with vsync on and off Dragging the fuel slide back and forth as fast as possible drops fps to like 20 fps but i think because of the dimming it must be dropping to zero? Yea I have freesync 8x8 on kuban with lots of clouds on the coastal start im getting 130-144fps according to ingame and amd monitor according to this my fps must be dropping out of the freesync range to cause dimming not sure what my range is but im guessing 20 is too lowWhat Is FreeSync Brightness Flickering And Can You Fix It? (displayninja.com) This problem has been fixed in single player But still occurs in multiplayer Changing AMD freesync mode from optimised to ON makes freesync work Edited April 11, 2021 by brahguevara
