Does the monitoring programs cause that much studdering? FPSvr, msi, in game monitor?

The very act of measuring it causes it, Sch-schrö-schrö-di-din-dinger's stutter.

Holy carp , well then that's that. No more eyeing the frametime OCDing about studders.

 

The HUD also throws regular studders btw. Disable it as well.

So did they fix the stutter? I'm actually seeing it is some other flat screen games too now, not just VR ones.

A more recent driver has been released 461.40 on 26 Jan

 

Release notes snip:

[Steam VR game]: Stuttering and lagging occur upon launching a game (without running running any GPU hardware monitoring tool in the background)  

 

Sound a bit like the last supposed fix. I will be testing it shortly

Just read the Still Outstanding issues, after my original post, and this is still an issue with this release.

Cannot say that I am seeing anything different when using the HP G2 after upgrading to 461.40. Not better, not worse.
