Nankeen Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Besides the WWII theaters for this flight sim, I think, if a seperate expansion was made to be purchased, like puting players in the tanks to the fitting WWII theaters, would widen the interest. I understand this is a flight sim, and it is, but to broaden the freedom of choice where a player can drive a crewed tank would be really cool. After all, we are shooting, bombing tanks, the only difference is Ai are in the tanks, not players!
1CGS LukeFF Posted May 31, 2014 1CGS Posted May 31, 2014 No thanks. The team is already stretched enough trying to make the air combat enjoyable for all. If I want to play in a tank I have plenty of other choices for that sort of thing. 1
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) I think the dev team said this is possible to do but they are not pursuing it - possibly about a year ago when they released a tank demo for lighting and physics. It was tanks moving and firing but the team is committed to the flight aspect of the sim only. Let's see how the game progresses over the next few years before leaving the lofty heavens. Another solution could be crowdsourcing, but again this is probably something for the future, once the title is out officially and they have more experience under their belt. Look at what happened to the original IL-2 Sturmovik, it's only about having a bit of patience me thinks. I'm sure that 10 years from now we'll see some very very cool stuff happening, if you asked me 10 years ago whether I would have expected a quality level of the current standards we see, I'd have told you "yeah right.."

AX2 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 (edited) My poll At 2016 - 2017 you will like buy controlled ground vehicles ? http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/1464-2016-2017-you-will-buy-controlled-ground-vehicles/ And one quote and Sourse: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/6-about-partnership-and-battle-stalingrad/ Jason_WilliamsQ. Why was the Digital Nature engine chosen instead of the CLOD engine? A. The Digital Nature engine is an advanced game engine that has been developed over several years and powers ROF with great results. Besides being relatively bug free and well-functioning, it has advanced physics, realistic flight-modeling, progressive damage modeling, complex ballistics, detailed environmental modeling, detailed terrain modeling and superb graphics rendering. Above all else it is more modular and flexible than the CLOD engine. It can even support different types of player vehicles from main battle tanks to giant robots. Using the Digital Nature engine will provide users with a well-functioning product at launch that can be brought to market fairly quickly. It can still be further enhanced in the future as needed. But today is World of Tanks Thunder and Tanks War battles. There is room for more tanks, the market of game tanks is full Edited June 4, 2014 by Mustang
4Shades Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 There is room for more tanks, the market of game tanks is full Yes, but those games are cheezy rubbish.
