If just reinstalled il2 via steam as I got the oculus quest 2 for Xmas and thought it would be a great game with vr.

I can't get it to work. I launch the game via steam vr and once in the game I just get a windowed view of the cockpit and no vr experience. I connect the oculus via a link cable and this works fine with DCS which I also play.

Anyone have any ideas on the set up? I've enabled 3rd party apps on the oculus and can't see anything in settings that can help.

Add il-2 too oculus library start from that .

Make sure you have stream VR up to date .

I've added DCS and il-2 into my library and i now start there .

Try coming out of steam VR start game normally make sure works in flat screen .

Then restart using steam VR .

It does work, I've played it with it here. Oculus Link cable was used. Streaming over WiFi didn't work (compressed view).

Edit: Clarification

When you say steam VR is that the normal steam. When I launch the game it asks if I want to launch it in vr mode. It loads it up OK but the game is not in vr mode?

Salute,

I have a Rift and have recently fallen out of love with it compared to the quality of the image I can get on my screen and TrackIR.

Having said that I would like to get back to using VR for IL2 (flying and Tanks) as well as Assetto Corsa Competizone driving sim.

I am thinking of upgrading to the Quest2.

Is there anyone that has done the same upgrade that can comment on the difference / improvements?

I have just watched a review by GamerMuscle who commented that (whilst racing) that objects in the distance can be a little blurred (he referenced the brake boards beyond 100m could be a little blurred). By how much I don't know but if a lot obviously not ideal for taking out a tank at 1000m.

 Cheers

Quest 2 for IL2 VR is a very good investment. The picture is clear and sharp. Objects at distance are crisp....not blurred like in Dirt2 Rally.

The only problem I have is finding a sure way to get my xbox 360 controller being recognized by IL2 in VR mode. I got it to work yesterday for 2 hours, so I know it functions. I used virtual Desktop for a wireless gameplay. only the xbox Controller was a device with a cable.

It depends on the way you start IL2, but I forgot the working starting procedure for Steam VR. Any tips for getting the controller recocnized with every start of IL2?

You should use open composite instead of steam vr.

Could I ask for some help about the nvidia and general setup tips for quest 2? The cockpit is beautiful, but the terrain and spotting is horrible and have fps drops. I tried many different setups, upscale at 150% and still a blurry zig-zag mess the terrain. I'm new to vr, I start Il-2 from steam vr via a link cable.

Thank you for the help in advance.
